Moriarty (or 'James' but never 'Jamie' unless he really likes you) is very human, although he's spent enough time around Great Old Ones that the extremely sensitive might catch a certain psychic taint on him. He's blond, though his hair is streaked with brown and ginger in places, scruffy, often unshaven, very tall indeed, quite broad-shouldered and quite lithe. He has quite striking green eyes set beneath a rather heavy brow, and he often has bruises or cuts on him.

There is something startlingly leonine about the way he looks, the way he moves, the way he sounds.

He will usually be dressed formally in a dark shirt, a waistcoat, smart trousers, and often a cravat or jacket. He eschews hats. He usually has a pocketwatch and a pipe on his person. He is quiet and soft spoken when he talks, with an Irish accent.
